About Us
About Ascent Volleyball
Ascent is a youth development program for athletes ages 5–18, built on the belief that great athletes are developed through a holistic approach—prioritizing the person, the athlete, and the player.
We are a development-first club that fosters a strong sense of community while preparing athletes to perform with confidence. Our environment is supportive, structured, and psychologically safe, allowing athletes to compete, take risks, and grow without fear—because true performance is built on a foundation of trust, consistency, and long-term development.
Through volleyball, we intentionally cultivate character, resilience, confidence, and a lifelong love of sport. Our goal is not only to develop skilled players, but to equip young people with the mental and emotional tools that transfer into school, relationships, and future pursuits.
We are equally committed to developing our coaches. Through mentorship, education, and a shared training framework, our coaches deliver consistent, high-quality programming grounded in research and best practices. This creates a strong, values-driven community that athletes and families can grow with over time.
Our Purpose
Developing athletes. Building character. Pursuing excellence.
At Ascent, we believe volleyball is more than a game—it is a powerful vehicle for developing character, resilience, leadership, and excellence. Our purpose is to create an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential, both on and off the court.
We are committed to developing confident athletes, exceptional teammates, and servant leaders who pursue excellence in every area of life.
Our Mission
To develop confident, resilient, and skilled athletes by prioritizing the person, the athlete, and the player—through evidence-based training, intentional coaching, and a supportive community that fosters long-term growth in both sport and life.

whole-personOur Definition of Success
Success beyond the scoreboard
Winning matters. But it is not our only measure of success.
True success is seen in the athlete who grows in confidence, demonstrates integrity, serves others, embraces hard work, responds with resilience, and continually pursues excellence.
If we develop exceptional people, sustained competitive success will follow.
Our Approach
A model rooted in research
Our training model is grounded in long-term athlete development principles and supported by research in youth sport science and motor learning.
1. The Person
We begin with the individual. Athletes thrive in environments that support psychological safety, autonomy, and positive relationships. Our coaches meet athletes where they are, supporting confidence, emotional development, and communication, while reinforcing values such as accountability, respect, and perseverance.
2. The Athlete
We develop well-rounded athletes through physical literacy and athleticism. Research shows that building a broad base of movement skills improves performance and reduces injury risk. Our programming develops coordination, balance, speed, and strength—forming the foundation for long-term success.
3. The Player
With a strong foundation in place, we focus on volleyball-specific development. Using principles from biomechanics and skill acquisition, athletes refine technique, improve efficiency of movement, and develop game understanding. Training emphasizes repetition with feedback, decision-making, and game-like scenarios.
Our Commitment
Development is intentional
At Ascent, every session is designed with purpose — guided by research, delivered with care, and focused on long-term growth. We are building more than volleyball players. We are developing confident, capable individuals who are prepared to rise — on and off the court.
